K-1 fiance visa
applicants interested in hiring our firm often have numerous questions. We hope these
answer some of them; if not, please do not hesitate to email us.

Why
hire an attorney? Isn't hiring a fiancee preparation service
cheaper?
There are important reasons why it's better to hire an
attorney rather than a form completion service. Decisions should
not be based strictly on cost.
-
Form completion services cannot provide
advice. Only attorneys can. If a fiancee service
provider is actually giving advice (which is almost impossible
to prevent in the course of preparing a K1 fiance(e)
application), the provider is engaging in the unauthorized
practice of law and is breaking the law.
-
Attorneys keep up with changes. Immigration
law is constantly changing. In the first few
weeks of 2004, the US-VISIT program was implemented which
affects the entry and exit of foreign nationals and President
Bush has proposed important changes in immigration law.
Attorneys have the resources to keep abreast with these
changes and understand how they can affect their clients'
situations. Although there is plenty of K1 fiancee
do-it-yourself information on the internet, much of it is
outdated and therefore dangerous to rely on. Because
immigration law is in a constant state of flux, it is
imperative to hire an expert who can guide you through the
process.
-
State bar associations are cracking down on
these services. If your application is being prepared by one
of these services and the business closes shop, what becomes
of your application and the fees you paid?
-
Attorneys have specialized training. 3 years
of rigorous training in law school hones an attorney's
research and analytic skills which enable him/her to decipher
complex nuances of the law.
-
Attorneys offer peace of mind. Being separated
from a loved one is extremely difficult. Lengthy CIS
processing times add to the stress. Knowing that your
application is in the hands of a competent expert allows our
clients to rest easy.

Can you help me
if I live in another state?
Yes! Immigration law is federal and applies equally to all
U.S. states. An attorney can represent a client in a different
state so long as he's licensed in one state. We utilize email,
FedEx, fax, and the phone extensively so that distance makes no
difference. We've successfully represented clients all over the
world and the U.S.
