The Story of Gary and His Wife

Our story began back in December of 2004.  I was fed up with relationships with women in our culture so I decided to look abroad. I signed up with a website com and noticed my wife’s picture.  I sent her an email and within a few days she responded. We exchanged emails and began communicating. Her sister had to help with the translations because my wife’s English was very limited. However, in spite of the language difficulties, we were able to communicate adequately.

One of the things I noticed immediately about my wife was her total lack of pretense. It was so refreshing to me to communicate with a woman who was so pure and honest. I was very attracted to this. I also noticed that she has a wonderful sense of humor, something I’ve always found attractive in a woman.

From the beginning, we were very up front about the desire to have a permanent relationship. I think this was good for us because each knew what the other was looking for. This minimized game playing and helped us to evaluate whether this relationship was headed in the right direction. After regularly communicating back and forth, we both agreed that a meeting was in order. In April 2005, I went to Vietnam to visit her and her family.

When I met my wife for the first time at the airport, I was stunned by her beauty and warmth. She greeted me graciously and had made all the accommodations for me during my stay in Vietnam . She made sure that I wasn’t going to be taken advantage of by the local Vietnamese merchants. During my time in Vietnam , she and I wrote notes to each other because we found out that that was a great way to communicate. Her written English is pretty good and this helped our communication.

In Vietnam , I had a wonderful time getting to my wife’s family and her extended family. Everybody was so warm and respectful. I truly enjoyed being with them.  I also had a chance to do some sightseeing with Ha. We went snorkeling, toured some pagodas, and ate some delicious food. At the end of the trip, I had to be honest and ask myself how I felt about this woman. I realized that I had fallen in love with this angel.

So after I returned to the U.S. , we continued to chat and our love for each other has grown deeper. It became evident that we both wanted to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.
